ERA-IX 100Gbit Port Upgrade for low-latency connectivity and DDoS Protection

On October the 3rd we’ve upgraded our ERA-IX port to 100Gbit to accommodate increasing demand and improve latency to key providers such as Hetzner, Cloudflare, Google, Steam and Meta. Traffic using ERA-IX will also be using our new filtering technologies.
Why ERA-IX?
ERA-IX is a reliable and fast growing internet exchange with the ambition to expand and innovate making them an ideal partner for RoyaleHosting as we share the same vision and values. ERA-IX offers RoyaleHosting a low-latency connection to many key providers while offering many important insights and security features, this is why ERA-IX is our preferred route to these important providers.
During the 100Gbit upgrade process, ERA-IX has been very helpful and flexible, ensuring a seamless transition to the new port.
Benefits for our customers
As we’ve already stated before, latency to key providers such as Hetzner, Cloudflare, Google, Steam and Meta will greatly improve as we’re directly connected to these providers via the ERA-IX platform. This was already the case before but due to the lower port capacity, not all traffic used the faster route.
Increased capacity
The addition of 100Gbit will allow us to handle more traffic during peak hours. This extra capacity will also increase our in house ddos protection filtering capabilities.
Conclusion
We’re very excited to be using the ERA-IX platform to provide our customers with lower latency connectivity and build out our own network infrastructure, this is one of the changes we’re making to improve our overall network infrastructure including DDoS protection.
